An end-of-print auto-off on a plug that powers a filter fan marked the linked
printer offline and forced its state to "unknown". The mark was unrecoverable:
connected heals on the next MQTT message but state does not (only frames
carrying gcode_state rewrite it, and steady-state push_status frames are
partial), so the printer stayed "unknown" until a manual Force Refresh and the
queue never dispatched to it again.
The offline mark is now an explicit presumption: mark_power_off records the
state it overwrites and _on_message undoes it as soon as the printer sends
another report on its own topic, since inbound traffic proves the power was
never cut. A reconnect discards the saved state, so a genuine power cut is
unaffected. Each plug also gains a controls_printer_power flag (default true,
backfilled) that gates all five power-off paths, and the queue's power-on step
now picks the flagged plug instead of whichever linked plug came first.
A Shelly reports one energy figure — aenergy.total, a lifetime counter in Wh
that never resets. Bambuddy had a single REST energy field and filed whatever
it found under "today", so the value never reset at midnight, and Yesterday
and Total stayed at zero: get_energy() simply never set those keys.
With `total` unpopulated, the hourly snapshot recorder skipped the plug, so
the Statistics page's energy figure was zero as well, not just the Settings
card.
Split the REST energy config in two: rest_energy_path still means "used
today", rest_energy_total_path means "lifetime counter". A Shelly has only
the latter; a Tasmota behind a REST bridge has both; sharing a URL costs one
fetch, not two.
Then derive Today and Yesterday from that counter using the snapshots we were
already taking: today = counter now - counter at the last local midnight;
yesterday = the gap between the two previous midnights. Local midnight, not
UTC — a UTC boundary rolls Today over at 02:00 in Berlin. The snapshot loop
now ticks on the local hour so a reading lands on the boundary instead of up
to an hour early. A counter that goes backwards (factory reset) reports
nothing rather than a negative.
Collateral, found while verifying on both engines: the smart-plug DateTime
columns are naive UTC but the code wrote aware datetimes into them. SQLite
drops the offset; asyncpg raises DataError. So on Postgres every snapshot
capture raised inside the loop's except, and every status poll raised on
last_checked — the whole subsystem was dead on the database we recommend for
multi-printer installs. All plug timestamps are naive UTC now.
Existing REST users with a cumulative path in the today field must move it to
the new lifetime field; the form and wiki now name which counter each wants.
The print-queue "auto off after this job" trigger used a second, inline
auto-off implementation (main.py, print_scheduler.py, print_queue.py)
that hardcoded wait_for_cooldown(50C, 600s) — ignoring each plug's
configured off_delay_mode / off_delay_minutes / off_temp_threshold — and
ignored the return value, powering off on the 600s timeout regardless of
print state. A print that failed and was reprinted from the touchscreen
got its power cut mid-print. The inline tasks were also uncancellable, so
a reprint couldn't abort a pending off.
Consolidate all three into SmartPlugManager.schedule_off_after_queue_job,
which schedules via the plug's configured strategy (shared with
on_print_complete through _schedule_off_per_mode) and is cancellable via
_pending_off. Add printer_manager.is_print_active() and guard the actual
power-off in _delayed_off and _temp_based_off so no path cuts power on a
loaded print. Move the on_print_start cancellation ahead of the auto_on
gate so a reprint always aborts a pending off.
asyncio holds only a weak reference to tasks returned by
``create_task``. Fire-and-forget callers that discard the return value
let the event loop GC the task before it finishes, logging
``Task was destroyed but it is pending!`` with no traceback. The #1648
support-bundle review surfaced 94 such warnings in 8 days of v0.2.4.5
-- the silently-vanished exceptions reach support bundles as opaque
GC notices instead of actionable errors.
New backend/app/core/tasks.py::spawn_background_task(coro, *, name=None)
is the one place in the codebase that calls asyncio.create_task. It
stores the task in a module-level set, attaches a done-callback that
auto-removes on completion AND surfaces any uncaught exception via the
logger with the originating traceback, and accepts name= so a leak
source is traceable through /tracebacks and the log line. Cancelled
tasks don't log (a shutting-down service is not an error).

Reporter Kyobinoyo asked for the equivalent of the existing
print-finish auto-off but triggered when AMS drying ends.
Two new SmartPlug columns: auto_off_after_drying (default false),
off_delay_after_drying_minutes (default 10 — AMS chamber is hot
post-cycle so longer cooldown than the print-finish default of 5).
SQLite + Postgres migrations both idempotent.
Trigger lives in BambuMQTTClient — per-AMS _previous_dry_times
tracks the dry_time > 0 → 0 falling edge and fires a new
on_drying_complete(ams_id) callback. Plumbed through
PrinterManager.set_drying_complete_callback to
SmartPlugManager.on_drying_complete(printer_id, db), which walks
linked plugs and respects the per-plug toggle. Catches queue,
ambient and manual drying identically because it observes firmware
state, not scheduler intent.
Frontend: single "Auto Off After Drying" toggle + delay input on
the smart plug card, next to the existing print-finish auto-off
section.
Per-AMS plug routing (separate plug for AMS only, per-AMS targeting
on dual-AMS printers) deferred — Bambuddy's plug model is
plug→printer, so the trigger fires whenever any AMS on the linked
printer finishes a cycle.
The Statistics page reported "Gesamt" (All Time) kWh correctly but showed
zero for Today/Week/Month in total-consumption mode. Two bugs drove it:
1. The starting plug counter was kept in an in-memory dict
`_print_energy_start` that was lost on any backend restart mid-print, so
the per-print `energy_kwh` delta silently never got computed. The stats
endpoint's fallback path `SUM(PrintArchive.energy_kwh)` therefore summed
to zero for users running in total mode.
2. Total-consumption mode has no per-print delta by design — it includes
idle/preheat/standby — so the fallback to archive rows was the wrong
strategy even when the data existed.
Fix, in two parts:
- Persist `energy_start_kwh` on the archive row and read it back from a
fresh session at print end. Deletes `_print_energy_start` and its 5
call sites, replacing them with a single `_record_energy_start()` helper.
Per-print tracking is now restart-resilient regardless of tracking mode.
- Add hourly `smart_plug_energy_snapshots` table + `_snapshot_loop()` in
SmartPlugManager. Rewrote the `/archives/stats` energy branch as
`_sum_snapshot_deltas()` which computes per-plug
`max(0, last-in-range - baseline)` where baseline is the latest snapshot
at or before the range start, falling back to the earliest-ever snapshot
and signalling `energy_data_warming_up` when no pre-range baseline
exists (fresh upgrade). MQTT plugs are skipped from snapshots since they
only report "today" and have no lifetime counter.
Frontend: QuickStatsWidget renders an AlertTriangle next to Energy Used /
Energy Cost with a tooltip when `energy_data_warming_up` is true, so the
"low values right after upgrading" situation is explained in-product.
Fully localised across 7 UI languages.
Tests: new backend unit tests cover the snapshot delta arithmetic
(baseline/endpoint, counter reset clamp, multi-plug, warming-up fallback,
endpoint windowing), per-print restart resilience via expunge_all, and the
snapshot task lifecycle (start idempotent, stop cancels). Frontend tests
assert the warning icon appears only when the flag is set and only on the
energy tiles.
Docs: updated `CHANGELOG.md`, `README.md`, wiki `features/energy.md`,
wiki `features/statistics.md`, and website `features.html` with the new
behaviour and warming-up explanation.
When multiple smart plugs were assigned to the same printer, only the
first plug's automation triggered. All automation paths (print start
auto-on, print complete auto-off, queue auto-off, scheduler power-on)
now iterate every plug linked to the printer. Also fix queue auto-off
hardcoded to Tasmota instead of using the correct service for the plug
type.
Auto-off now has a "Keep Enabled" toggle that keeps it active between
prints instead of disabling after each use (one-shot). Useful for HA
accessories like BentoBox filters that should always power off after
prints. Default behavior (one-shot) is unchanged.
Non-script HA entities (switch/light/input_boolean) on the printer card
always sent turn_on when clicked, which is a no-op when the switch is
already on. Now sends toggle for non-script entities so the badge click
actually changes the switch state. Script entities still use turn_on.
Also fix SmartPlugManager._get_plug_for_printer() using
scalar_one_or_none() which crashes with MultipleResultsFound when
multiple plugs are assigned to the same printer (e.g., Tasmota + HA
switch). Now fetches all plugs and returns the main non-script plug.
Add tests for both fixes: _get_plug_for_printer multi-plug handling
(5 tests) and canonicalFilamentType/filamentTypesCompatible/autoMatch
PA-CF equivalence (8 tests).
All backend timestamps used datetime.now() (server local time) or the
deprecated datetime.utcnow(). The frontend's parseUTCDate() assumes
timestamps without timezone indicators are UTC and appends 'Z', so
stored timestamps were off by the timezone offset when the container's
timezone wasn't UTC.
Backend: replaced datetime.now() and datetime.utcnow() with
datetime.now(timezone.utc) across 16 files (~80 call sites) for all
database fields and DB comparisons. Cosmetic timestamps (filenames,
user-facing local time formatting) intentionally left as local time.
Frontend: replaced 13 new Date(backendTimestamp) calls with
parseUTCDate() across 8 files to correctly interpret UTC timestamps.
- Add HA_URL and HA_TOKEN environment variables for automatic HA
integration configuration in HA add-on deployments
- Environment variables always override database settings with
non-negotiable precedence; database values preserved for fallback
- Auto-enable integration when both env vars are set; partial config
(one env var) uses database enable state without auto-enabling
- Add centralized get_homeassistant_settings() function following
Spoolman pattern; replace direct database queries across codebase
- Add ha_url_from_env, ha_token_from_env, ha_env_managed fields to
AppSettings schema to inform frontend about configuration source
- UI shows read-only fields with lock icons and "(Environment Managed)"
labels when env-controlled; toggle shows auto-enable badge
- Add comprehensive test coverage: 9 integration + 8 unit tests
Closes#283
Resolved conflicts:
- CHANGELOG.md: Kept both HA Script Support and STL Thumbnail features
- database.py: Kept both migration sets (UNIQUE constraint removal + queue columns)
- SmartPlugCard.tsx: Merged script UI support with base styling
- static/: Rebuilt frontend with merged changes

The print scheduler was hardcoded to use Tasmota service when powering
on printers for queued prints. Home Assistant plugs were not checked,
causing "Tasmota device not found" errors.
Changes:
- Make get_service_for_plug() public in smart_plug_manager
- Update print_scheduler to use smart_plug_manager.get_service_for_plug()
instead of tasmota_service directly
- Fixes both _power_on_and_wait() and _power_off_if_needed() methods
Closes#200
