FormFollowsFunction a8965b0e9f Use Spoolman 0.27's native tags in Spoolman mode (issue #3168) (#3252) 2026-10-08 14:34:56 +02:00
maziggyandKeybored02 12e543b1b4 Fix SpoolBuddy reading the filament type as the Bambu spool ID (#984)
The daemon took tray_uuid from tag blocks 4-5, which hold the filament
type, so every spool of one type sent the same value and the kiosk never
saved it. Read block 9, which both tags of a spool share and the AMS
reports as tray_uuid. Save it on kiosk quick-add and link in local and
Spoolman mode, and give spools added before the fix their tray_uuid when
their exact tag UID is scanned again. Drop any tray_uuid that is not a v4
UUID, so daemons that are not updated yet keep matching by tag UID.

Block 9 read based on #1200 by @Keybored02.

maziggy 2f7f17a891 Use the Spoolman spool's own initial_weight as its label weight (#3194)
Spoolman keeps a full spool's net weight on the spool (initial_weight)
and falls back to the filament's weight, but Bambuddy read only the
filament, so a 250 g spool of a 1000 g filament showed and synced as
1000 g. The list, weigh, AMS sync, SpoolBuddy scale, remain-% tracking,
fill bar and cost now share one lookup. Create writes initial_weight,
and a label-weight edit writes it instead of patching or duplicating the
filament. The spool form's cost per kg is converted at the spool's size
to and from Spoolman's per-spool price.

maziggy c145b3ebc1 Use the vendor's empty spool weight as tare in Spoolman mode (#3195)
Spoolman resolves a spool's tare from the spool, then the filament, then
the vendor's empty_spool_weight. Bambuddy skipped the vendor and fell
back to 250 g, so weighing a spool whose tare was set only on its vendor
gave the wrong remaining weight. The inventory weigh action, the
SpoolBuddy scale and the displayed core weight now share one lookup, and
"keep old weight" on a filament change stamps a vendor-inherited tare.

maziggy 63e987e591 Paint SpoolBuddy spools with their extra colours and effect (issue #3033) 2026-09-28 14:27:21 +02:00
maziggy e4a9ef4550 fix(spoolbuddy): show the colour name the rest of Bambuddy shows (issue #3090)
SpoolBuddy said "Unknown color" under a correctly-coloured swatch for
spools the inventory page names without trouble.

The name was never in the spool record. Bambu's RFID tags frequently
carry no readable colour name -- some carry an internal code instead --
so Bambuddy has always resolved the swatch's own hex against the colour
catalog, and the kiosk was rendering the empty column. Exactly one
SpoolBuddy file already did it right, which is what marks this as an
inconsistency rather than a kiosk simplification.

Route every SpoolBuddy colour-name display through resolveSpoolColorName,
which also stops the spools that do carry a code from showing "A06-D0" at
the user. The write-tag edit form keeps the raw stored value on purpose:
offering a derived name for editing invites the user to save it as though
they had typed it.

Spoolman has no colour-name field at all, so _map_spoolman_spool puts the
spool's subtype there and sets color_name_is_synthesized. That flag now
travels on the tag-matched broadcast, and resolveSpoolColorName takes a
third argument to honour it -- a synthesised name loses to the catalog
and survives only as a last resort. Spoolman installs were reading
"Silk+" as a colour on the Inventory page and the AMS hover card too, so
those call sites pass the flag as well.

Searching by a colour you can read on screen now finds it, in the kiosk
and in Bambuddy: the shared inventory filter matches the resolved name as
well as the stored one. That makes the filter depend on the catalog,
which loads asynchronously, so the three memoised call sites take its
version as a dependency -- without that, a query typed before the catalog
arrives keeps its empty result and reproduces the very symptom being
fixed.

The fallback label was hardcoded English in components that already
import useTranslation; it is now spoolbuddy.spool.unknownColor in all 14

maziggy 4387a09162 fix(spoolbuddy): route weight sync by inventory mode exclusively (#1530)
POST /spoolbuddy/scale/update-spool-weight tried the local DB first
and only fell back to Spoolman on a local miss. Combined with
  nfc/tag-scanned's post-#1119 always-Spoolman routing, a stale local
Spool row sharing a numeric id with a Spoolman spool would absorb
the sync silently while the Spoolman row stayed unchanged.

Mirror the routing already used by nfc/tag-scanned: pick the branch
via _get_spoolman_client_or_none() and never cross. Local mode now
returns 404 on a local miss instead of falling through.

  New TestUpdateSpoolWeightSpoolman.test_stale_local_row_does_not_shadow_spoolman
asserts both directions: Spoolman gets the update, the colliding
  local row's weight_used and last_scale_weight are untouched.

maziggy b4875fd5d6 fix(ci): ruff format spoolbuddy.py; raise SettingsPage test timeout
- backend/app/api/routes/spoolbuddy.py: re-formatted via ruff (lambda
conditional wrapped in parens — the formatter check fires when the
expression spans multiple lines without grouping)
  - frontend/src/__tests__/pages/SettingsPage.test.tsx: per-test timeout
raised to 15s for the external_camera_snapshot_url PATCH test; the
default 5s was tight enough on GitHub Actions runners that user.type()
of the 49-char URL + 800ms debounce occasionally blew past it

maziggy f5ecc61cda fix(spoolbuddy): lower /update permission to INVENTORY_UPDATE so kiosk's own Settings -> Update button works
The kiosk's Settings -> Update Daemon button returned "API keys cannot
be used for administrative operations" because POST /spoolbuddy/devices/
  {id}/update was gated on Permission.SETTINGS_UPDATE, and SETTINGS_UPDATE
is in the _APIKEY_DENIED_PERMISSIONS deny-list introduced by PR #1241.
Every kiosk-side request tripped the deny-list before the API key's
scope set (Read / Print Queue / Control / Legacy) was even consulted.

Same root cause as the four QuickMenu System buttons fixed in 0.2.4b3
(Restart Daemon / Restart Browser / Reboot / Shutdown). Missed /update
in that audit on the reasoning "replaces the daemon binary, different
threat surface" — but that's wrong: restart_daemon already replaces
the running daemon process, so daemon-replacement is not a step up in
blast radius. The SSH update is also strictly scoped to the one device
the operator physically controls (git fetch + pip install + systemctl
restart on that host) — same threat profile as the system commands
  already running on INVENTORY_UPDATE.

  Lower /spoolbuddy/devices/{id}/update from SETTINGS_UPDATE to
INVENTORY_UPDATE so it aligns with the rest of the kiosk-scoped routes
  (calibration/tare, display, cancel-write, system/command,
  system/command-result, update-status). The main Bambuddy in-app updater
at POST /api/v1/updates/apply keeps SETTINGS_UPDATE — that one runs on
the Bambuddy host and is correctly fenced behind the deny-list.

maziggy ef7fd4fa5c fix(spoolbuddy): respect Spoolman mode end-to-end + multiple cache/UX/permission fixes
Seven intertwined SpoolBuddy + Spoolman bugs from feature/spoolman-inventory-ui
testing, fixed as one batch since they all live on the same path:

  1. /spoolbuddy/nfc/tag-scanned always tried local DB first and only
consulted Spoolman as a fallback on local-DB miss. A stale local
row silently won over the authoritative Spoolman record. Now gates
on _get_spoolman_client_or_none() so the route uses Spoolman
exclusively when enabled, local exclusively otherwise.

  2. Dashboard "Assign to AMS" button was a no-op when the matched
spool wasn't yet in the cached spools query (newly created in
Spoolman, or unarchived after page load). The card rendered via
     `displayedSpool ?? sbState.matchedSpool` fallback but the modal's
stricter guard silently failed to mount. New effectiveModalSpool
synthesises an InventorySpool-shaped object from the WebSocket-
delivered MatchedSpool (9-field subset, sufficient for the modal
since it only needs `id` to route the assign API).

  3. AMS-page slot picker explicitly returned null for the
assign/unassign branch when a slot had a SpoolmanSlotAssignment
but no tag-linked spool — only Configure stayed visible. Now
resolves the assignment via spoolmanSlotAssignmentsAll +
spoolmanInventorySpoolsCache, renders a "Assigned spool" info
card, and exposes an Unassign button wired to a new
     unassignSpoolmanSlotMutation (DELETE
     /spoolman/inventory/slot-assignments/<id>).

  4. LinkSpoolModal showed "Unknown color" for every Spoolman spool
because Spoolman doesn't standardise color_name — most installs
only populate color_hex and filament.name (which often carries
the colour, e.g. "PLA Basic Red"). _map_spoolman_spool now falls
back to the filament's subtype (filament name minus material
prefix) when color_name is empty, so spools are visually
distinguishable. The NFC write-tag warning specifically checks
the raw filament.color_name (not the mapped value) so the
"tag encodes empty color name" warning still fires on installs
     that genuinely lack the field.

  5. Writing a tag for spool B didn't clear the same tag from spool A,
so a single NFC UID could map to two spools at once and
find_spool_by_tag returned whichever came first in the cached
list. nfc_write_result now searches Spoolman for any other spool
currently bound to the target UID and clears its extra.tag
(best-effort: cleanup failure logs a warning but doesn't block
the write, since the chip is already written).

  6. The kiosk display held stale spoolmanSlotAssignments cache
permanently because a long-running browser window has no
focus/remount triggers to fire a refetch. Adds
refetchInterval: 3_000 so the kiosk picks up changes from another
client (Bambuddy main UI, direct Spoolman edit) within seconds.

  7. Kiosk QuickMenu System buttons (Restart Daemon / Restart Browser /
Reboot / Shutdown) all 403'd silently. /system/command was gated
     on Permission.SETTINGS_UPDATE (T-Gap 2 from a prior security
audit) but every other kiosk-scoped device route uses
INVENTORY_UPDATE; the kiosk operator's session has the latter,
not the former. Lowered to INVENTORY_UPDATE so operators can
recover the kiosk from the kiosk. Risk is bounded — only the 4
named commands are accepted (no RCE), reboot/shutdown require
physical-access recovery anyway, the same operator already
controls printers + weighs spools. /update keeps SETTINGS_UPDATE
because it can replace the daemon binary.

maziggy 2aabbe5d37 fix(spoolbuddy): sync SSH key over heartbeat to survive Bambuddy keypair rotation
Bambuddy's SSH keypair under <DATA_DIR>/spoolbuddy/ssh/ regenerates whenever
the data dir is recreated (volume remount, container recreate, fresh deploy).
The daemon previously only fetched the pubkey at registration, so any
rotation after a successful boot left ~/.ssh/authorized_keys pointing at
a stale public half — every Update click then failed with "Connection
closed by authenticating user spoolbuddy [preauth]" until the daemon was
restarted by hand. Each prior registration also appended a fresh entry
without pruning, accumulating stale Bambuddy-tagged keys indefinitely.

  - HeartbeatResponse now carries ssh_public_key; the heartbeat route reads
it via the same try/except shape as the register route so a missing or
unreadable backend key doesn't break telemetry.
  - _deploy_ssh_key() strips lines tagged bambuddy-spoolbuddy and writes
the current key once. No-op when already in sync (no mtime churn on
every heartbeat). User-managed entries are preserved.
  - Daemon heartbeat handler calls _deploy_ssh_key when the response
carries a key, so rotations propagate within one heartbeat instead
    of requiring a service restart.

  Tests: 5 unit (creates-when-missing, replace-stale-pileup, preserve-user-keys,
idempotent, swallows-write-errors) + 2 backend integration (heartbeat carries
the key; backend key-read failure leaves ssh_public_key None but the
  heartbeat still 200s).

maziggy c4ebe5a70c ● fix(spoolbuddy): actually power off HDMI on idle instead of CSS overlay (#937)
The SpoolBuddy kiosk's "screen blank timeout" setting only painted a
black CSS overlay over the browser window — the HDMI panel's backlight
stayed on indefinitely, wasting power and risking burn-in on
  OLED/LED panels.

Move blanking down to the OS layer:

  - install.sh now installs swayidle + wlopm + jq and rewrites labwc's
autostart to launch a new spoolbuddy-idle.sh watchdog instead of the
    old `wlr-randr --on` keep-alive loop.
  - The watchdog sources /opt/bambuddy/spoolbuddy/.env, derives device_id
from the first non-loopback MAC (same algorithm as daemon/config.py),
fetches the configured blank_timeout from the backend once on boot,
and execs `swayidle -w timeout $T 'wlopm --off HDMI-A-1' resume
'wlopm --on HDMI-A-1'`. Touch/keypress wakes via labwc's input event
path. timeout=0 skips swayidle entirely so existing installs that
never picked a timeout keep their current always-on behavior.
  - New GET /api/v1/spoolbuddy/devices/{id}/display endpoint returns the
current brightness + blank_timeout. Gated on INVENTORY_UPDATE (same
level the daemon heartbeat key already uses) so existing SpoolBuddy
API keys work without extra permissions.
  - SpoolBuddyLayout drops blanked state, the blank timer, activity
listeners, resetActivity, and the CSS overlay. Runtime updates to
the timeout take effect on next kiosk/browser restart; default for
    newly-enabled blanking is 300 seconds.

maziggy b5c8c2cdf5 Add SpoolBuddy device management settings tab
Previously, if a SpoolBuddy daemon crashed during registration it could
end up registered twice. The kiosk UI silently used only the first
device and there was no UI path to remove the orphan — administrators
had to delete the row directly in the database.

Adds a new Settings → SpoolBuddy tab that lists every registered device
with live connection status, system details (firmware, IP, CPU temp,
memory, disk, OS, daemon + system uptime), hardware health flags, and
an Unregister action gated by a confirm modal. A yellow banner appears
whenever more than one device is registered to flag likely crash-
duplicates. Backend adds DELETE /spoolbuddy/devices/{device_id} gated
by inventory:delete and broadcasts spoolbuddy_unregistered over WS so
  other tabs refresh immediately.

The tab header shows a device-count pill and a green/gray status bullet
reflecting whether at least one registered device is online. An online
device that is accidentally unregistered re-registers itself on its
next heartbeat. Localized in English, German, and Japanese. The kiosk
layout still uses devices[0] — once the orphan is unregistered, the
  remaining device naturally becomes [0].

The SSH update set status to "complete" after the daemon had already

maziggy 811813165b Fix stale SpoolBuddy update status after daemon restart
After an SSH update completed, the UI kept showing "Update complete,

maziggy 5e9481859b Replace SpoolBuddy self-update with SSH-based updates from Bambuddy
The daemon's self-update mechanism (git fetch/reset on its own code) was
fragile: .git permission errors, self-modifying code mid-run, hardcoded
main branch. Bambuddy now SSHes into the SpoolBuddy Pi and drives the
update remotely — matching its own branch, with step-by-step progress
  via WebSocket.

SSH key pairing is automatic: Bambuddy generates an ED25519 keypair and
returns the public key in the registration response. The daemon deploys
it to authorized_keys on first connect — no manual setup needed.

  - New: backend/app/services/spoolbuddy_ssh.py (keypair, SSH commands, update orchestration)
  - Rewritten: trigger_daemon_update endpoint uses SSH instead of pending_command
  - New: GET /spoolbuddy/ssh/public-key endpoint for manual pairing
  - Removed: daemon _perform_update() and cmd=="update" heartbeat handler
  - Updated: install.sh — bash shell, sudoers for systemctl restart, .ssh/ setup
  - Updated: Dockerfile — added openssh-client
  - Updated: frontend — SSH key display, force update button
  - Fixed: update check now compares against APP_VERSION, not GitHub releases

maziggy 04e64ffde1 Fix SpoolBuddy scale tare & calibration not being applied
The tare and calibrate buttons on the Settings page queued commands
but never executed them due to five broken links:

  1. Daemon received tare command but never called scale.tare()
  2. No endpoint to persist tare offset back to backend DB
  3. Heartbeat never called scale.update_calibration()
  4. Heartbeat response with stale values overwrote new tare to zero
  5. set-factor used DB tare_offset (stale/zero), producing wrong
calibration factor — empty scale showed ~5000g

Fixed daemon to execute tare, persist result, and propagate
calibration. Calibration step now captures raw ADC at tare time
and sends it with step 2, making factor computation self-contained.

Replaced calibration weight input with compact touch numpad for
the RPi kiosk's 1024x600 touchscreen (no physical keyboard).
